Waterfront

Burlington

If you fly into Burlington, plan to spend a few hours there before you drive to camp, or leave time to explore on Monday before your flight! It’s about 15 minutes from the airport and about an hour from camp.

We recommend walking the boardwalk along Lake Champlain, then walking up the hill to the Church Street Marketplace.

Church Street Marketplace

Downtown Burlington

Four blocks of shops and restaurants between Pearl Street and Main Street on a pedestrian mall.

Restaurant recommendations:
Skinny Pancake on the waterfront for crepes. Honey Road for Mediterranean small plates and Hen of the Wood for farm-to-table dinner (both require reservations). Pascolo for pasta, The Friendly Toast for brunch, Henry Street Deli for a cheap breakfast sandwich made by stoned 20-year-olds, Daily Planet for cocktails. For bars, The Archives has a bunch of vintage arcade games and Three Needs has pool tables and a pizza window.

Breweries

Burlington and Shelburne

Foam Brewers and Zero Gravity are the two we recommend most. Foam is on the waterfront with a lakeside patio. Zero Gravity is a big beer hall on Pine Street. Burlington Beer Co., Citizen Cider and Switchback share a complex on Flynn Avenue. Fiddlehead is 15 minutes south in Shelburne with a Folino’s Pizza next door.
